An ecstatic and varied program of music!
Colorado Symphony Orchestra present a joyous performance of Beethoven's 8th Symphony at Boettcher Hall, conducted by Christopher Dragon. Known by Beethoven himself as his "Little Symphony in F", the somewhat exploratory symphony is one in which he let his creativity run wild, creating an ebullient, playful work to rival any of his best.
The Colorado Symphony Horns will also take the spotlight for a rendition of Konzertstuck for Horns and Orchestra by Schumann, a grand piece evocative of the greenery of the ancient forests blanketing Germany, whilst Haydn's "Farewell" will also be aired; a piece in which the composer originally instructed performers to one by one stop playing and leave the stage until only two violinists remained.
