Experience Gilbert & Sullivan's Rollicking Pirate Opera

Swap your winter blues for swashbuckling adventure during the Colorado Symphony Orchestra's Pirates of Penzance concert! To mark the special occasion, the world class ensemble has invited the Colorado Symphony Chorus, the renowned company the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players and their director/conductor extraordinaire Albert Bergeret to kick the production into high gear - there'll be much singing, much dancing, lush orchestrations and an evening of fun for the whole family!

Written in 1879 by Victorian-era powerhouse partnership Gilbert & Sullivan, The Pirates of Penzance is an iconic comic opera filled with classic musical theatre tunes like the Major General's Song, How Beautifully Blue The Sky, and No I Am Brave. The story follows the misadventures of Frederic, a young pirate apprentice has come to the end of his indentured "apprenticeship" on the eve of his 21st birthday. Things go awry when he falls in love with Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, discovers he was born on February 29th and is technically a youngster forever!
