EXCELLENT

Thoroughly enjoyed this performance and was not going to review it until I read the first review. Without knowing what that reviewers qualifications are, or the reasons for their negative response, I hope anyone who reads it will take it for what it's worth...nothing. Of course you might ignore mine on that basis as well, but at least you will be left with a mixed review and not the impression that it was a "waste of time and money.." I suspect that for many, if no baskets are slammed, no touchdowns achieved, no goals made, and no injuries incurred, the evening might well have been "a waste of time and money". However, for those of us who love beautiful singing, charismatic performers, ingenious set and costume design, this was well worth the time, and impossible to place a dollar value on..."priceless"?

"THE BARBER OF SEVILLE" ONE ENGAGING SUCCESS!

As I remarked (to just about anyone/everyone I bumped into after the performance), had there been an instant recording via DVD or instagram or even VHS available on this production of this opera, I would have purchased 10 and passed nine of them out to unfortunate souls who weren't as lucky as I to have been there. Excellent singing (best Dr. Bartolo since Fernando Corena's back in the '60s), imaginative sets, great comedic flair... What was there not to like? Please bring this back at some point... and fairly soon!
