The Colorado Symphony Rolls Out The Red Carpet
Since 1930, The Academy Awards has celebrated the brightest lights in the entertainment industry, awarding performers as well as those behind the scenes with the highest accolade in the business. Celebrate the sounds of the silver screen and all things Oscars in the company of The Colorado Symphony, led by associate music director Christopher Dragon through a program of works from this year's Academy Award nominated and winning scores.
The ensemble will also be joined by Colorado Symphony Associate Concertmaster Claude Sim and Broadway vocalist performer Devin DeSantis for an arresting performance of the Chaconne for Violin and Orchestra from the 1998 Academy Award for Best Score winner The Red Violin. A combination of lyrical melodies and virtuosic etudes, the piece chronicles the journey of one violin and its many owners spanning four centuries and five countries.
