An Evening Of Momentous Music 

The Colorado Symphony and renowned special guest conductor Kevin John Edusei invite audience members to sink their ear teeth into a meaty musical program of Mendelssohn and Schubert, kicking things off with the former's brilliant Concerto for Violin and Piano in D minor. Bow-flexing Colorado Symphony Concertmaster Yumi Hwang-Williams and guest pianist Anne Marie McDermott join forces for a whirlwind performance of the concerto, in which violin and piano dance, reflect and communicate in a breathtaking display of counterpoint and virtuosic technique. 

The program closes with Schubert's Symphony No. 9, a life-affirming tour de force symphony that is often referred to as 'The Great' in hallowed reverence. A wild ride of rhythm, relentless pace and drama, the symphony culminates in a majestic finale where harmonic development and recapitulation fuse with dance melodies on a titanic scale so big it'll be sure to clear the rafters, and possibly even the sinuses.
