Why see Frozen?

Frozen Comes To You

There's an icy treat in store for audiences this season! Bringing the stunning landscapes of Arandelle to the stage, join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and more for this exciting local production of Disney's mammoth hit. With a newly conceived staging that includes glittering new sets and costumes, this is set to be all the fun of the movie and then some!

What Is The Story?

Loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson's fairytale The Snow Queen, the story takes place in the Scandinavian surroundings of Arendelle, where two royal sisters, Elsa and Anna must grow up alone after losing their parents in a tragic sea accident.

Elsa, the elder of the two must also contend with a secret - she has the power to create ice and snow with her bare hands, which she must keep secret, even from her sister, who nearly died whilst playing together as little girls. Anna, by contrast, is a sunny, albeit naive young lady who yearns for the outside world, having been isolated from Elsa since the accident.

When Elsa comes of age, she must take the throne as Queen, and the kingdom is reopened for her coronation - just for one day. Anna meets a handsome and charming Prince called Hans, who she instantly wishes to marry, much to Elsa's consternation. When the argument inadvertently reveals Elsa's powers, she flees to the wild North Mountain to live out a life of solitude and freedom. But Anna must find her sister and bring her back (with the help of an ice-seller, his reindeer and a talking snowman), otherwise, the fate of Arendelle will be frozen forever, and left to the mercy of a cruel power.

Saw Frozen last night

Fantastic! We went with another couple. He didn't see the movie and wasn't all that interested in going. By intermission he said he was speechless it was so good. The play allowed more time for relationships to develop. The little Elsa and Anna were great. We were curious about how they would handle Elsa's magic on a stage. It was so beyond our expectations...just go see it for yourself. This will be Disney's next Lion King. My prediction is it will sell out on Broadway for years. And maybe, just maybe, the Anna Halloween costume sales will finally catch up with Elsa sales. Anna is the real heroine. ... Read more

SPECTACULAR!!

It was pure magic and wonder to see one of my favorite Disney movies come to life onstage. The special effects and sets were beyond stunning. The magical ice castle with glowing crystal shards, the backdrop of shifting northern lights, the majestic mountains and the huge castle doors. Caissie Levy's interpretation of Elsa was impeccable, and her powerful performance of "Let it Go" gave me chills. Patti Murin embodied the spunky and lovable Anna, Kristoff and Hans as well were brought to life wonderfully. And Sven the reindeer!! Costumes were gorgeous. I appreciate that Elsa's internal conflict was given expression. The message of conquering fear and hate with love is one that is simple and resonant for all ages. My only critique is that it is very unbelievable when Hans suddenly turns against Anna. I would have liked to see a little more complexity of his character from the beginning, perhaps a hint of his dark intentions revealed to the audience, if not to Anna. ... Read more

Amazingly chilling

I was lucky enough to see Frozen September 14, 2017, and loved the show! The magic was put together with stunning technology and staging. The casting of both the younger and older Elsa and Anna are fantastic. I loved Olaf and Sven both were very well acted out. I had chills and goosebumps when Let It Go was performed, since I wondered how Disney could pull off the switch from coronation dress to the sparkly icey blue dress along with creating the ice palace. Disney did not disappoint! The new music is stunning and adds to character development. The sets and staging is very well done, very well choreographed. The only complaint I would have from the show is that they did away with the rock trolls, which would have been cool costumes if they kept them. I would highly recommend this show to other Disney lovers, children would love it and I hope it returns to Denver! ... Read more
