Never a fan of 80s "hair bands," we went expecting to tolerate Def Leppard to get to Journey (saw them 3 times in "the day)...couldn't have been more wrong.
Def Leppard was AMAZING! I didn't really know their music, but the band was pure entertainment...great sound, awesome crowd interaction, engaging...loved the way they ended the show...very cool and appropriate for the crowd and band. A class act..
Then there was Journey...WTF! They came out to Separate Ways, transitioned into another song, then another...no crowd interaction...each crapped on by long, harsh, raggedy, awkward Neal Schon guitar solos. Arnel danced all over the stage, trying to fill up the awkwardness with weird acrobatics and clunky microphone flips that went on WAAAAAAAAAAY too long. At one point, the lights hit the crowd, to illuminate several thousand "fans" standing still, just staring blankly at the sh*tshow unfolding on stage.
We left after 4 songs, when it was evident it wouldn't get any better. Very sad.

DEF LEPPARD ROCKED / JOURNEY MIX AWFUL
I went to Def Leppard / Journey at KFC -Yum Center on 7/11/18, primarily to see Journey
with drummer Steve Smith. Def Leppard was pleasant surprise and sounded great.
Journey was OK but their sound mix was atrocious! I was seated next to sound board and
kept looking at engineer to see if they noticed problem with mix. Nothing! How is that
possible for a band that has been touring for over 40 years? Steve Smith had nice drum
solo but appeared bored and disinterested other than that.

CONTINUED 5 STARS FOR CT AND DL, WHAT HAPPEDED TO JOURNEY?
I thought for sure one of the crew would stop the show, and fix the volume mix and
get it right. It was so obvious to everyone in the stands, something was wrong. I left
my seat and went down the field to talk to Fenway security about the terrible sound
from the speakers. He said they sent a message to the sound tent, and it was out of
their hands. I am again in shock to hear so many comments from other shows out
the sound issues. “Fire the sound Crew/ manager”. I doubt they will get an invite
back to Fenway. Boston music fans are crazy supportive at Fenway, but Journey
stuck out last night. Hopefully they get word to fix this problem, before it ruins fan
loyalty. The sound crew needs to have ears in the stands to help guide and adjust s
sound levels. I’ll be watching the reviews to see if they fix it.
Hats off to the Fenway crew for managing the concerts. Perfect place to see your
favorite band !

5 STARS FOR DEF LEPPARD
I went to see Journey and left a Def Leppard fan! Amazing. Journey - in the last couple
cities all the reviews say fire your sound team and quit with all the guitar rifs, we want to
hear your SONGS. Not songs that weren't in the top charts. I would see Def Leppard
again in a heartbeat. Amazing! Great show and the sound was top notch. Music was
fantastic, Def played all their #1 songs. That's what we want to hear.

DEF LEPPARD ROCK
5 stars for Def Leppard, they carried the show last nite in the YUM center. Was very disappointed with Journey and their show. Too many solo's to kill time. But over all the whole concert was enjoyable.

DEF LEPPARD GREAT/ JOURNEY VERY DISAPPOINTED
Family surprised me with tickets to concert in Baltimore on 6/16/18, this was our
second Journey concert and I was very disappointed. Sound was very poor quality
and continued and singer seemed out of tune most of the night. Neil should just
do a solo concert since most of the show consisted of his solo's. Not sure why they
don't spend more time playing some past songs. I was not sure what to expect
with Def Leppard, was not sure how many of their songs i would know, ended up
knowing almost all of them. Boy did they makeup for all of Journeys short comings.
Great show, energy, and sound. Glad we stayed we were thinking of leaving after
Journey but decided to stay. Advice to Journey fix problem with Steve Perry or stop
wasting your fans time and money.

DEF LEPPARD AND PRETENDERS SLAYED, JOURNEY MEH
The show at Wrigley Field 7/14/18 needed more Pretenders and less Journey.
Chrissie Hynde was badass, but the set WAY too short. No "Brass In Pocket"? Really?
Journey clearly hasn't sorted out their sound issue. And, to mirror everyone else
here, WAY too many solos that felt like ways to give the other old dudes a rest
between songs, not even remotely cool save a truly mesmerizing turn from Steve
Smith on drums. They kinda-sora re-energized the crowd for the last 3 songs (Wheel
In The Sky, Faithfully, Don't Stop Believing), but overall it felt like a tired, overwrought
karaoke show. Props to Pineda for being a good Steve Perry impersonator, but
these guys really need to hang it up.
DEF LEPPARD WAS A REVELATION: the energy, an amazing light show, all the hits, and
the crowd was INTO IT. This is what people come to a rock and roll show for.
OUTSTANDING.
